‘Ramayana’ Gets PG-13 Rating For US Release, Two Versions With Different Runtimes

Ranbir Kapoor’s “Ramayana” has received a PG-13 rating for its US release, with the Hindi version listed at 3 hours 15 minutes and a separate English-language cut, titled “Ramayana: Rise of a Legend,” running a tighter 2 hours 45 minutes.

The English version skips songs and the interval for a more streamlined watch, catering to audiences less accustomed to the musical-interlude format common in Hindi cinema. US theatrical listings point to a release around November 5-6, giving American audiences a chance to watch the Diwali tentpole shortly after its India debut.

“Ramayana” is planned as a two-part epic, with “Part One” releasing this Diwali and “Part Two” set for Diwali 2027. Kapoor has spoken about the scale of the combined project running well over six hours across both films, though the studio hasn’t issued an official runtime breakdown for each individual part.
