OnePlus Set To Shift Devices To ColorOS 17, Switch Will Be Optional

OnePlus is preparing to shift a number of its phones over to ColorOS 17, the software its sibling brand Oppo already uses, though an official device list and rollout timeline haven’t been published yet.

Unofficial leaked lists point to the OnePlus 11, Open, 12/12R, 13 series, and 15 series, along with several Nord models, as likely candidates, though different leak sources disagree on some models. Importantly, OnePlus has said the switch will be optional: users on eligible devices will be able to choose whether to move to ColorOS 17 or stay on their current OxygenOS version, with a rollback option expected to be available.

Based on past update cycles, the rollout is expected to begin with OnePlus’s newer flagship devices before expanding to older and Nord-series phones later. Users are advised to check OnePlus’s official community forums for confirmed eligibility once the company makes a formal announcement.
