Antigua and Barbuda Falcons Win Their First CPL Title: Final Report

Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are the champions of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026. They beat tournament debutants Jamaica Kingsmen by eight wickets in the final at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, on Sunday 20 September 2026. It is the Falcons’ first CPL title, in only their third season.

How the final went

  • Jamaica Kingsmen: 170 for 9. Maaz Sadaqat hit 114 off 58 balls, with nine sixes and eight fours, and made more than half of his side’s runs.
  • Bowling star: Sufyan Moqim took 4 for 14 for the Falcons.
  • Chase: the Falcons reached the target with 20 balls to spare. Amir Jangoo and Hasan Nawaz shared an unbroken stand of 89 runs.
  • Record: it was the highest successful chase in a CPL final, as reported.

About the tournament

  • CPL 2026 began on 7 August 2026 and had seven teams for the first time, playing 39 matches.
  • The teams were Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, Barbados Tridents, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Kingsmen, Saint Lucia Kings, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Trinbago Knight Riders.
  • Jamaica reached the final after beating Guyana Amazon Warriors, and the Falcons reached it by beating Guyana in the other playoff.
