  • The monsoon is withdrawing. The southwest monsoon began retreating from west Rajasthan on 19 September, two days later than the normal date of 17 September. It has now almost left Punjab and Haryana, with the withdrawal line reported to pass through Gurdaspur, Chandigarh, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Dholpur, Udaipur, Deesa and Naliya. The four-month rainy season officially runs from June to September.
  • A western disturbance is bringing a wet spell to the north. With an upper-air circulation over the western Himalayan region, rain is expected across the region in the coming days.
