Shreyas Iyer Scores Maiden T20I Century, Climbs to No. 7 in ICC Rankings

A Maiden Hundred

Shreyas Iyer scored his first century in T20 Internationals during India’s ongoing series against West Indies, a milestone that had eluded him in the format until now.

Climbing the Rankings

The innings pushed Iyer up to No. 7 in the ICC T20I batting rankings, reflecting a consistent run of form across the series.

Smart Cricket at the Other End

Teammate Ishan Kishan has spoken about deliberately giving Iyer the strike during their partnerships, a tactical choice that helped the innings build momentum.

What It Means for India

With the T20I series following the ODIs, Iyer’s form adds depth to India’s middle order ahead of the remaining matches against West Indies.
