National Scholarship Portal: Post-Matric Scholarship Applications Close October 31
Students applying for post-matric scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for the 2026-27 academic year have until October 31 to submit their applications for most central government schemes.
The NSP is the single-window platform through which the central government disburses a range of scholarships to students from SC, ST, OBC, minority, and economically weaker backgrounds, among others. Schemes closing around this date include several post-matric scholarships as well as the Ministry of Tribal Affairs’ Top Class scholarship for ST students.
Students who have not yet registered on the portal need to first complete One Time Registration (OTR) before applying for a specific scheme. It’s worth noting that individual colleges often set their own, earlier internal deadlines for verifying documents or submitting hard copies, so students should check with their institution’s scholarship cell in addition to tracking the portal deadline, and should not wait until the final days to submit, since last-minute technical issues are common on high-traffic government portals.
