Honda Unveils CB250SS Scrambler Concept, Signals Production-Ready Design

Honda has unveiled the CB250SS Concept, a retro-styled scrambler motorcycle, at the Chongqing Motorcycle Show in China, and reports suggest it is close to reaching production.

The concept is powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine of around 249cc and is expected to replace the existing CB190SS in Honda’s China lineup, aimed primarily at younger riders looking for an accessible, fun entry-level motorcycle. The design borrows heavily from Honda’s classic CB line, featuring a round headlight, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a ribbed seat, with off-road-inspired touches like knobby tyres, engine guards, and a raised exhaust.

The use of a street-legal silencer and catalytic converter, rather than a track-only setup, is seen as a strong signal that the bike is production-ready. Honda has said the final version is expected in the first half of 2027, with Chinese dealerships likely to receive it by spring that year. No launch outside China has been confirmed so far, and full specifications and pricing are yet to be released.
