Diwali 2026 falls on November 8, with Dhanteras on November 6, and several major online retailers have already kicked off festive sale season well ahead of the big day.

Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale began on October 9 (with early access from October 8 for eligible members and cardholders), while Amazon’s Great Indian Festival sale also started on October 8. Both sales feature discounts across electronics, fashion, home goods and more, with additional bank card offers stacking on top of listed prices.

Shoppers planning big-ticket purchases like phones, appliances or jewellery closer to Diwali itself should watch for dedicated Diwali-specific sales from other platforms in late October and early November, and compare final prices across platforms before buying, since early-October discounts and closer-to-Diwali discounts don’t always match.
