Qualifying cut-off marks
The qualifying cut-off is the minimum score needed to be eligible for counselling. It is set by percentile, and NBEMS published these marks along with the result:
| Category | Qualifying percentile | Cut-off (out of 720) |
|---|---|---|
| General / EWS | 50th | 262 |
| General PwBD | 45th | 244 |
| SC / ST / OBC (including PwBD of these categories) | 40th | 226 |
The rank is calculated from the marks actually scored, with tie-breaking rules given in the information bulletin. A candidate who meets the cut-off is eligible for counselling; getting a seat depends on rank, the number of seats and the choices filled.

- Counselling: the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for the 50% All India Quota seats, and each state runs counselling for its own state-quota seats, usually in several rounds.
