Property Prices Rise Across 15 Indian Cities In H1 2026, Faridabad And Delhi Lead
Property prices across India’s major cities continued rising through the first half of 2026, though at a slower and more uneven pace than the post-pandemic boom, with sales volumes largely flattening out.
Data from Trade Brains shows prices rose across all 15 cities tracked in H1 2026, with Faridabad and Delhi recording the steepest annual growth at 18%. Magicbricks’ PropIndex for Q1 2026, covering 13 cities, put the national average rate at ₹14,633 per square foot, up 14.1% year-on-year. The Reserve Bank of India’s own House Price Index, which tends to be more conservative, showed a milder 3.58% year-on-year rise for the quarter ending December 2025.
Premium housing — homes priced above ₹1 crore — now accounts for more than half of all sales in major cities, as developers lean into higher-ticket projects amid elevated construction costs. Most analysts expect continued but slower growth of roughly 5-7% a year rather than a sharp correction, though some oversupplied premium pockets in cities like Bengaluru and Pune could see local softening.
