IMF Forecasts India’s Economy To Grow Around 7% In FY27 And FY28
The International Monetary Fund has forecast that India’s economy will grow by around 7% in both FY27 and FY28, reaffirming the country’s position as one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world.
The IMF’s projection comes even as the global fund has flagged broader risks for the world economy, including elevated energy prices and uneven growth across regions. India’s relatively domestic-demand-driven growth model has helped it stay comparatively insulated from some of these external shocks, according to economists tracking the outlook.
Sustained growth at this pace would keep India on track to remain among the largest contributors to global GDP growth, though the IMF has also pointed to the importance of continued fiscal discipline and structural reforms to sustain momentum over the medium term.
